K9 Detection

Oregon City, Oregon – A 76-year-old woman has been missing since Thursday night. Dorothy Beyer lives with her daughter and son-in-law on Hoffman Road in Oregon City. Beyer was last seen inside the house 11:30 Thursday night and was possibly heard as late as 3 a.m. Friday. The Clackamas County Sheriff’s office was notified about Beyer’s disappearance at 2 in the afternoon. Dorothy “Dottie” Beyer is described as despondent, without her medication, no wallet, no keys and left her dog behind. The portion of Oregon City Beyer left is rural, isolated and not close to any public transportation. Beyer is 76-years-old, 5’4”, 175 pounds, gray/white hair, brown eyes with prescription glasses. She is believed to be wearing a burgundy coat with a fur collar. Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, Search & Rescue Coordinators, report having approximately 30 volunteers now actively engaged in the search.

Responding to a call for assistance, Friday evening search dog “Madison” and Heather Oller tracked Dorothy from her home along a fence to a ridge line near her home. Due to the danger from darkness Clackamas County suspended the search until morning. At daybreak Search ONE supplied two State Certified K9 teams. Shortly having receiving their assigned areas, based upon the tracking information, search dog “Sam” found Dorothy returned with an alert, than took Judy his handler to Dorothy’s location. Judy Horner, a retired Salem Firefighter and EMT stabilized Ms. Beyer until Deputies and American Medical Response arrived on scene. Other team members were: Jeff Fisher, Emily Dietrich, Grant Shirahama, Denise Van Ostaeyen, Eric and Marilyn Thomas.

Search ONE K9 Detection proudly fields dogs that have been certified by the Oregon State Sheriff's Association.
